Nothing reaches us, by design.
This page covers the NodeWeave app for iPhone and iPad, and this website. Updated on 2 November 2026.
No server
The app has no server. The publisher receives none of your messages, location, contacts or usage statistics. There is no account, no phone number, no advertising and no tracker.
What stays on your phone
Your identity is a key created and kept in your phone's keychain. Your messages, rooms, contacts and badges stay on this phone. “Erase everything”, in the app's settings, deletes them for good.
What travels
Your messages pass from phone to phone over Bluetooth, end-to-end encrypted. Phones that relay them cannot read them. Public rooms can be read by anyone who knows their name. A disappearing message is erased from every phone after 24 hours.
Location
Your location is only sent when you share it, to the chosen conversation. In “neighbourhood” mode, it is rounded to about 1 km before leaving the phone. Live sharing lasts 15 minutes at most, in private messages only.
Permissions
Bluetooth is used for exchanges, the camera to read QR codes, location to share your position, notifications to alert you of a message, Face ID to lock the app. None of this is sent to the publisher.
Reports
When you report a message, your mail app sends an email containing that message, its author and its time. Only what you choose to send reaches us, and it is only used to handle the report.
This website
This website uses no cookies, no audience measurement and no trackers. It only remembers your light or dark theme choice in your browser. The map queries maps.nodeweave-project.com to show the relays.
Your rights
Since the publisher holds no data about you, there is nothing to send you or erase. Questions: support@nodeweave-project.com.
